Charcoal   Half-hour study   44 x 58 cm

Compared to the quick studies, this a a much quieter drawing. Half-an-hour is long enough for some consideration. The drawing started with a sheet of paper rubbed all over with charcoal. The highlights were then carved out with an eraser. Darker tones then added with more charcoal. It is a bit more of an organic and painterly approach and gives a unity to the picture that I like.
